Actualization
Actualization weaves tension between mind and space, revealing how meaning emerges and reality takes form in the patterns we choose to believe. Actualization is an audiovisual piece that uses laser and mirrors to create vectors of light, shaped as geometries that continually morph and transform. Through coordinated motion, it creates an image of the future; perpetuated by technology, yet illusive and ungraspable. The work uses a spatial sound composition to immerse us into recorded events, like the rover Perseverance’s recordings of wind on Mars, or Saturn V spaceships taking off. The sound is real, but not actually happening. It is juxtaposed by an image that feels surreal, a mirage, that is happening in front of your eyes.
