Entropy
“In an isolated system, entropy can only increase”. The second law of thermodynamics finds its significance both in physics and in philosophy. It confronts us with the fact that everything in the universe tends towards chaos. It appears that disorder is the default, a given that is in conflict with our longing for order and predictability. ENTROPY is an analogue particle simulator that explores the transition of elements and their movement in space. The 4 meter tall transparent structures are inhabited by a system that converts liquid into gas, and displays its transition and growth, visually drawing analogues to clouds and climate systems.
